CA IPCC November 2016 Topper Meenu Jain's Interview

CA IPCC November 2016 Topper Meenu Jain's Interview

Meenu Jain

Ajmer girl Meenu Jain (20) has emerged as the 7th topper of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), which declared the results of CA IPCC examination held in November 2016.

Meenu, first of all, many congratulations to you from CA Preparation Guru

Thanks a lot!!

How are you feeling now, what was your first reaction after seeing your scores?

I couldn’t believe it at first. I wasn’t expecting a single digit rank frankly, so the seventh rank is something which was out of imagination. Both my parents are happy and even I am very happy. I got a call from my institute VSI & ICAI President's office that I have topped. Initially, I couldn’t believe that so I told them to cross check again. But then they confirmed my roll number so I got the news from them

You won't believe that meenu got 136 marks in CPT Exam in November 2015 which is a very poor score and after that, she joined VSI for CA IPCC. She told us that if we follow the proper exam pattern which is provided by the institute and do hard work, we can easily clear the CA IPCC in the first attempt.

Yes, this was the first attempt of meenu in CA IPCC and she cracked it with AIR 7. CA IPCC is one of the toughest exams in India but according to meenu, we can easily get a rank in the first attempt with the help of proper guidance and environment.

Meenu Jain said the most important point you should remember while preparing for Taxation is, NEVER READ A BULK OF SYLLABUS IN A SINGLE DAY. Taxation is a tricky subject who should be prepared over a period of time. Don’t finish topics in a single stretch. For that day you may feel like you got that but after a week, everything comes to the starting point. Slow and Steady.

What was the strategy that you followed while studying and what are the important things that one should take in mind while preparing for exams?

First thing is the attitude. There were times when I couldn’t actually study but this is my experience that positive attitude always helps. Like after appearing for my examination, I was like – acha hoga, jo vi hoga acha hoga. So, positive attitude always boosts you up, encourages and teaches you further. That determination that – Yes I can do and the positive attitude is what that took me to this stage. As far as preparation goes we cannot study haphazardly. I have followed a proper plan for study provided by the institute and the best thing that I would like to suggest the other students is that we need to always follow the institute material and the practice manuals provided by the institute and nothing is more important other than that. It is the best study material that I can ever suggest. After studying from those materials, when I sat for my examinations, it was like – the examinations are very easy. So, I have kept in mind – the importance of the study materials.

Here is the detailed interview of Meenu Jain -

CA IPCC Tips: How to Clear CA IPCC May 2017 in First Attempt

How to Clear CA IPCC May 2017 in First Attempt

You can consider these strategies for CA IPCC May 2017 and It is a well-known truth that cracking the CA IPCC examination is a challenging job. But the time you invested the required fees of Rs 6000, you have consciously and knowingly accepted this big hurdle and are ready to face any challenge or eccentricity that come in your way.
But ‘top ranking’ in the CA IPCC examination, you need to follow some golden rules. Besides being a dreamer, you have to be simultaneous, a believer, doer, planner, producer, and achiever. Here are few guidelines for you -
Success in Dealing with Problems
The progress mantras are ‘believe, belief, and believe’, pray big prayers, have a big faith and get some big ideas for achieving your goal.
Plan Your Studies
Make a date wise and month wise study plan, specifying the names of the subjects.
Study Aids
For every subject, you should be given with…
1. Study materials provided by ICAI;
2. One or two reference books, Study Material provided by Institute
3. Success Manual and RTP
Categorization of Problems
Solve out each and every query given in your study materials and reference books, after going through the theory perspective. Avoid referring to theory while solving queries
This helps you while improving; giving more time for the A and B categories. In your second revision, you can explain 50% of the B and all problems of B section. In the third revision, focus fully on the A category. Lastly, you can work out problems from your Practice Manual.
Calm & Poise Prior to D-Days
Keep yourself free from the examination fear during the time of your preparation for the CA IPCC examination.
Most importantly, 10 to 15 days prior to your examination, you should keep total calm and poise so that your mind is not amused by fear and illogical ideas.
Library & Mock Test
You can schedule your visit to a good library at least once in a week along with an instant note of subjects and books you intend to refer. Also, attend at least 2 to 3 mock tests.

Tips To Complete 1st Group Of IPCC In Just 25 Days

Tips To Complete 1st Group Of IPCC In Just 25 Days

To most people, the name of this article would not be digestible but according to specialist experience, it is not only challenging, but it is possible. It is the formulation of a plan for preparation which means the most in an examination, combined with focus, determination and a strong will to succeed.

Here my purpose is not trying to frighten those students who efficiently use and had served many months for their studies but this post is for those who, by any reason like due to their college examination, wedding season, other social duties, have not been able to prepare well and have very less time remaining for their examination. To those scholars I say, don't give up! It is still conceivable and possible for you to pass your exams.

Due to certain unpropitious conditions and bad options, I could not study well before my attempt held in May and I got 189 in 1st group & failed to clear it. Feeling depressed and demotivated, I spent the next few months in despair and disappointment. All I could think of was my failure. As a result, I wasn't able to study again and wasted most of my time before I knew it, there was just one month left for my second attempt. I ignored such attempt and gone out of India.

After coming to India I prepare for next May  attempt and appeared again for the 1st group only. Without waiting for the result of my such attempt I joined Coaching Class for both groups. My coaching was going well for both groups and mid while I got my result of May attempt 183/400.The problem was in aggregate only.

I decided that this failure cycle must come to an end. I began to rebuild my confidence and faith in myself. I realized that it is very important to refuse to let the fear of failure take over my mind. I gathered all the courage I could manage and decided that I CAN and WILL clear both groups this time, no matter what. Within One month, my confidence and resolve to succeed were back.

Now, I was left with approx 19 days before the first exam. I broke off all social contact and took proper care of my health. I decided that I will let nothing stop me this time, and when you fully believe in yourself, nothing can stop you from succeeding. Based on my experience, I want to share my story and suggest a study plan to those who are in a similar situation as I was. I used the following plan to prepare for my exams and it may work for you too.

Note: This plan will work only if you have taken classes for some subjects and you have some basic idea about everything - if you know absolutely nothing, no one can save you.
Create a schedule on paper for the next 15 days. Keep the last 2 days for revising Accounts.

Buy a set of Solved Scanners (solved past year question papers) and go through the pattern of papers. CA exams can be quite unpredictable, but still, you can get some idea about topics repeatedly asked in every attempt I know it is advised to study every single topic before the exams, but if you study the most repeated topics first, you can go through the remaining ones in the gaps between exams.

On the first day, mark the most-important chapters from each subject and write them down somewhere.

Now, you have 15 days and 4 subjects. Do not let this discourage you. Strengthen your determination and take a resolve that you can do this. Believe in yourself and in your capabilities. Each day, tell yourself that it is possible for you. Eliminate all your distractions and prepare yourself to study for around 17-18 hours a day. You will need to invest all of your free time into studying to be able to achieve this.

First of all complete VAT and SERVICE TAX in detail with Questions and practical sums from Practice Manual

Now you have left with only 14 days net. Divide all most important chapter of all four subjects as under.
  • MOST IMPORTANT CHAPTERS OF COSTING IN 4 PARTS.
  • MOST IMPORTANT CHAPTERS OF FM IN 3 PARTS.
  • MOST IMPORTANT CHAPTERS OF A/C IN 5 PARTS.
  • ALL ACCOUNTING STANDARDS IN 2 PARTS.
  • MOST IMPORTANT CHAPTERS OF BUSINESS LAW IN 3 PARTS.
  • MOST IMPORTANT CHAPTERS OF COMPANY LAW IN 3 PARTS.
  • ENTIRE COMMUNICATION AND IMPORTANT PART OF ETHICS IN 3 PARTS.

ENTIRE INCOME TAX IN 4 PARTS

COSTING & FM THEORY IN 1 PART.

Now Prepare in following way.
  • ON 2ND DAY COMPLETE 1/3 PART OF BUSINESS LAW AND 1/4TH PART OF COSTING.
  • ON 3RD DAY COMPLETE 1/3 PART OF BUSINESS LAW AND 1/4TH PART OF COSTING.
  • ON 4TH DAY COMPLETE 1/3 PART OF BUSINESS LAW AND 1/4TH PART OF COSTING.
  • ON 5TH DAY COMPLETE 1/2 PART OF ACCOUNTING STANDARD AND 1/4TH PART OF COSTING.
  • ON 6TH DAY COMPLETE 1/2 PART OF ACCOUNTING STANDARD AND 1/5TH PART OF ACCOUNTING.
  • ON 7TH DAY COMPLETE 1/3 PART OF COMPANY LAW AND 1/5TH PART OF ACCOUNTING.
  • ON 8TH DAY COMPLETE 1/3 PART OF COMPANY LAW AND 1/5TH PART OF ACCOUNTING.
  • ON 9TH DAY COMPLETE 1/3 PART OF COMPANY LAW AND 1/5TH PART OF ACCOUNTING.
  • ON 10TH DAY REVISED COSTING AND FM THEORY AND 1/5TH PART OF ACCOUNTING.
  • ON 11TH DAY 1/3RD OF ETHICS AND COMMUNICATION AND 1/4TH OF TAXATION.
  • ON 12TH DAY 1/3RD OF ETHICS AND COMMUNICATION AND 1/4TH OF TAXATION.
  • ON 13TH DAY 1/3RD OF ETHICS AND COMMUNICATION AND 1/4TH OF TAXATION.
  • ON 14TH DAY 1/4 OF TAXATION AND 1/3 OF FM.
  • ON 15TH DAY REMAINING PART 2/3 OF FM AS FM COVERS CASH FLOW, FUND FLOW, RATIO ANALYSIS WHICH MAY BE ASKED IN PAPER 1 ACCOUNTING......

Don't practice each question on paper, but practice the ones which you are not confident about.
Don't forget to read the theory as well side by side. Around 30 marks consist of theory in each attempt.

When you get tired of the practical questions, take a break and read the theoretical questions from Practice Manual.

During the holidays between exams, go through the Practice Manual and read all the important topics as well as the chapters you had left out. If you are left with more time, revise your notes and go through other study material like Module.

If you take a decision to succeed no matter what, you will be able to achieve this and clear IPCC 1st Group. This plan sounds extremely difficult to implement, but I speak from personal experience that it is possible. Do not give up, invest your time and energy into hard work and believe in yourself. Let nothing come in your way. You can do this!
